Jerry Wexler, who produced material for Bob Dylan and Aretha Franklin, has died aged 91.
Wexler past away at his home in Sarasota, Florida, the co-author of his memoirs confirmed.
Wexler coined the term 'rhythm and blues' during a career which began at Atlantic Records alongside the late Ahmet Ertegun.
He was responsible for Franklin�s huge strike �Respect� and helped Dylan win his first Grammy for the 1979 album �Slow Train Coming�.
George Michael and Dire Straits as well worked with the producer, who was born in Manhattan in 1917.
